Entry #0: Blogs, Surprisingly Pleasant!
Growing up, I've never had any interest nor positive view on Blogs, especially growing up in low income family. I wasn't exposed to the internet until my mid teens, so anything related to the internet was for much more wealthier families. Therefore, Blogs were something that people well off did on there free time, and was about their day to day lives. Growing with Fred from YouTube being at his peak, gave me that impression early on. Plus, when my family was finally able to afford an internet plan, my brother and I reserved it for YouTube and online gaming. So blogs were the farthest thing from my mind. But with the internet being more and vital in today's world, Blogs are strong a well, and there are a few that caught my interest, and of course those that didn't. But as I explore more and more, my opinion changes towards the positive.
Primer magazine was one Blog that I enjoyed surprisingly well. Here are a few reason's I enjoyed the Blog so well. The content is informative and relevant to today's world. I feel it would appeal to wide array of people considering the many subjects Primer magazine covers. Another thing I like to consider is the easy to use layout. The Blog is easy to navigate with ease and simple. With obvious implications that this Blog is geared towards men, it does a great job appealing to them.
The Blonde Salad is one Blog that I have come across, but unlike Primer Magazine, I didn't like this one. Here are few reasons why I don't find The Blonde Salad appealing. Content wise, it's not appealing, but is relevant and current. Another thing to consider is the layout of the Blog. It's too jumbled and not so easy to navigate. It takes a bit of learning to navigate a can take a away from the reader's experience. Another thing is the of use Bold lettering. It's often and redundant, therefore can cause the eyes to veer off to the other bold lettering, which can get in the way of the reader's concentration. But overall the Blog does an excellent job gearing towards the audience, and surely keeps people entertained.
Overall, Blogs are proving to me that they have more than one purpose. It's no longer just entertainment for those who are bored, but information that can help with day to day living, latest trends, and personal experiences. All of which prove invaluable in their own right. From DIY's to current event's, my view on blogs is changing positively, and no longer just about personal lives.
Hi Valentin, I appreciated this blog. I thought I was the only person who was not a huge fan of blogs. My viewpoint is beginning to change more for the positive also. I didn't realize many of the websites I look at are actually blogs. Still behind on the technology times. Here's to hoping we keep seeing the positive.
